Project continues to widen I-10 in Baton Rouge in both directions

A massive undertaking to widen Interstate 10 to four lanes in each direction — from the Interstate 10/110 split to the Perkins Road on- and off-ramps — will continue next year with work to begin on the widening of the westbound flyover curve toward the river, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.

Construction is already underway on the westbound portion of a new I-10 bridge spanning City Park Lake that will be part of the widening project.

Work also continues on a temporary widening of I-10 westbound to carry traffic when another major construction phase begins in 2028: the demolition and rebuilding of I-10 eastbound.
