AUSTIN (KXAN) — Across the state on Tuesday, H-E-B will serve more thousands of free meals during its annual Feast of Sharing, which began in 1989 as a way to give thanks to customers.
The initiative is part of its Hunger Relief Program, which works around the year to prevent hunger in communities across Texas.
How to plan a bougie Thanksgiving dinner on a budget
This year’s event happens from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Road. The event is completely free. It offers a holiday meal, that includes turkey, dressing, green beans, rolls, gravy and pie. There will also be live music, entertainment (see full list of performers below) and activities throughout the day.
The H-E-B pharmacy will also be on site offering free flu shots. CapMetro is also offering free transportation to and from the event. Riders can use the Umo app, and enter the code CM-IIR3-TTZG.
