Mead community rallies around teen critically injured in DUI crash

MEAD, Wash. — A 17-year-old boy is recovering from serious injuries after a three-vehicle crash near the intersection of Russell Lane and Highway 395. The Washington State Patrol said the crash was caused by an impaired driver who was arrested after attempting to flee the scene.

One of the teens injured in this crash, Brody Three Stars, is now in a medically induced coma.

“It really puts things into perspective, especially with our age and when we think we have so much time that it kind of shows you that time is very limited,” said Beau Tampien, a friend of the Mount Spokane High School student injured in the crash…
