ALBANY — A special prosecutor has been appointed to investigate whether there was potential criminal wrongdoing committed in Albany County related to the deadly 2018 limousine crash in Schoharie.
Albany County Court Judge Andra Ackerman made the appointment in May after District Attorney Lee Kindlon notified the court that his office had a conflict with the case. Before he was elected last year, Kindlon represented Nauman Hussain, the operator of the company that owned the limo. A Schoharie County jury convicted Hussain of second-degree manslaughter in 2023 for failing to maintain the decrepit stretch limousine.
