Asheville woman sentenced up to 6 years for role in 2024 fatal apartment shooting

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — On Tuesday, Nov. 25, the Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office announces the sentencing of an Asheville woman who pleaded guilty to multiple felony charges, including accessory after the fact, in connection with the fatal shooting of Terry Landrum Sr., 49, on June 16, 2024.

The Buncombe County DA’s Office said Aria Waters, 35, pleaded guilty last week to the following:

  • Class F felony of accessory after the fact to voluntary manslaughter
  • Class F felony of attempted trafficking in methamphetamine
  • Class H felony of possession of a stolen firearm

According to previous News 13 reporting and the DA’s Office, Waters’ charges are in connection with the 2024 homicide at the Artisan Biltmore Park apartment complex on Long Shoals Road involving Knowledge Jamal Davis, 19. In October 2025, Davis pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter and discharging a weapon into an occupied property, according to previous News 13 reporting and the DA’s Office.

After the shooting, Waters helped Davis, 18 at the time, flee in a stolen car that belonged to the victim’s mother, according to investigators and previous News 13 reporting…
