Bionca Ellis appeals life sentence for murder of 3-year-old in grocery store parking lot

CLEVELAND (WJW) — A woman sentenced to life in prison without parole for stabbing a 3-year-old boy to death in a grocery store parking lot last year has appealed her conviction.

A judge on Oct. 27 gave Bionca Ellis, 34, the maximum possible sentence for the murder of 3-year-old Julian Wood, in what prosecutors said was an unprovoked attack on the boy and his mother, Margot Wood, outside the North Olmsted Giant Eagle on June 3, 2024.
