It’s basically a 2-day snow event with a bunch of wind. So nothing we haven’t gone through before. The snowfall accumulation forecast through Friday evening is stacked with the heaviest amounts in the snowbelts because of the change in wind direction. So here are our thoughts and facts…
1. Initially, a west or west-southwest wind favors the Erie lakeshore and north of I-90.
2. This will be the case early Thursday morning into early Thursday afternoon.
3. Wind will shift to the northwest later in the day and remain there through the event on Friday night.
4. Northwest winds drive the heaviest snows into the snowbelts south of I-90 for the most part.
5. Again, this is not a repeat of last year’s storm…
