(WGHP) — You’ve heard predictions from Alex, Charles and Emily. Now, it’s Chief Meteorologist Van Denton’s chance to lay out his predictions for this winter. Here’s what Van had to say:
We have been in a snow drought the last few years. True, it did snow some last winter, but we were still below normal. We ended up with 4.9″ total.
Before we start talking about this winter, let’s look at our past. Going back to 1903 when our first records began, our average snowfall has been 7.9″. If you take the most recent 30 years, that number is 7.1″. The most recent 30 years is considered normal as climate shifts and changes slightly over time.
