NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — If you follow the Virginia Zoo on social media, you may have come across a photo posted last Sunday showing Zoo employee Emily Spence with a white rhino.
At first glance, she looked like a hunter posing with her big game kill, and folks were tooting their own horn about being outraged. But Spence said what people were seeing was actually a humane effort to eliminate poaching for the white rhino’s horns.
