IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. — The night before Thanksgiving is known as one of the most dangerous nights for drunk driving, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. News10NBC’s Declan Stablow spoke with the family of a young man killed by an impaired driver to discuss the importance of staying safe during the holidays.
Henry Rivera Jr., a senior at East Ridge High School in Irondequoit, was just 18 when an impaired driver going the wrong way on Route 590 hit and killed him. His parents urged those drinking to avoid driving.
“Please get a partner as your sober driver,” Rivera’s parents said. “There’s so much help out there these days as well. You know there’s Ubers, you can call so many agencies just to get a lift.”…
