KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City snow removal crews are preparing for winter weather with enhanced training and new technology.
The city’s Public Works Department introduced a training simulators for all snow plow drivers this year. The simulators allow staff to create challenging conditions and teach drivers to adapt quickly while driving safely.
“We always know to expect the unexpected,” said Michael Shaw, director of Public Works. “We can’t predict what Mother Nature is going to do. So, what we do is we try to create strategies in order to manage the outcomes.”
