Lubbock man sentenced for violent domestic assault with weapon

LUBBOCK, Texas— Thirty-one-year-old Kavaughn Jackson was sentenced to 8 years deferred adjudication for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, after a domestic dispute that occurred in 2024.

According to an affidavit obtained by EverythingLubbock.com on Wednesday, in September 2024, authorities responded to a domestic dispute in the 1100 block of 86th Street. The victim reported to officers that Jackson had punched her in the face with a closed fist. He then grabbed a knife from the kitchen and attempted to stab her while chasing her around the house.

Jackson then put the knife down and began to strike the victim again, and also strangled her.

When officers arrived at the scene, authorities noticed injuries on the victim’s neck, nose and lip area from the dispute. Officers also found a large amount of blood on the floor that the victim stated was theirs, according to court documents…
