Prairie Farms recalls milk sold at Woodman’s stores in Illinois and Wisconsin

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Prairie Farms Dairy has issued a voluntary recall of select gallon-sized fat-free milk after discovering that some containers may contain food-grade cleaning agents, posing a potential health risk if consumed.

The affected milk was produced at Prairie Farms’ Dubuque, Iowa facility and distributed to Woodman’s Markets in Illinois and Wisconsin. According to the company, only a specific portion of the December 8 (DEC08) production run is impacted. The recalled product details are:

  • Production Window: 17:51–21:23
  • UPC: 7273023117

Prairie Farms became aware of the issue on November 24 and immediately launched an investigation. Approximately 320 gallons were sold before the problem was identified, and all remaining affected products have been removed from store shelves.
