North Austin Residents: APD Recovers Nearly $13,000 in Stolen Goods During Recent Shoplifting Crackdown

Earlier this week, the Austin Police Department (APD) conducted shoplifting operations in North Austin. The initiative ran from November 23 to November 25, 2025. It involved North and South Metro Tactical Units, District Representatives, Patrol Officers, and retail partners. The goal was to address organized retail theft, improve public safety, and support local businesses.

During the three-day operation, officers made several arrests, issued citations, and recovered $12,900.85 in stolen goods. The enforcement focused on shopping centers including Canyon Ridge, Lakeline, and the Domain.

Arrests included Miguel Rivera-Duff, 25, for theft at H-E-B on Canyon Ridge Drive, and Gonzalo Alvarado, 29, at Walmart on N. IH-35, who was charged with theft and unlawful carrying of a weapon by a felon…
