City of Spokane funds 50 emergency shelter beds to help in colder weather

SPOKANE, Wash. — The City of Spokane is helping open emergency homeless shelter beds for people during the colder winter months.

Last month, Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown declared a state of emergency which allowed the city to bypass standard processes and get funding quicker.

The city says the new beds will have 50 new beds available at four scattered shelter sites operated by Revive Counseling Services, Jewels Helping Hands, the YWCA, and Community, Advocacy, and Treatment (CAT)…
