Troopers Arrest Anchorage Woman After Report Of Dangerous Driving On Sterling Highway

Alaska State Troopers arrested an Anchorage woman Tuesday after a REDDI report described a vehicle swerving across the Sterling Highway and forcing oncoming drivers to take evasive action.

According to Troopers, the report came in around 11:44 a.m. on November 25, when callers reported a southbound vehicle near mile 125 that was “all over the roadway” and nearly causing head-on collisions. An Alaska Wildlife Trooper located the vehicle in Ninilchik and conducted a traffic stop.

The driver was identified as 37-year-old Deloris V. Thornton of Anchorage. Troopers say an investigation determined she had consumed controlled substances earlier in the day before driving. Thornton was arrested on suspicion of DUI and taken to the Homer Jail for booking and a Datamaster breath test…
