Alaska State Troopers arrested an Anchorage woman Tuesday after a REDDI report described a vehicle swerving across the Sterling Highway and forcing oncoming drivers to take evasive action.
According to Troopers, the report came in around 11:44 a.m. on November 25, when callers reported a southbound vehicle near mile 125 that was “all over the roadway” and nearly causing head-on collisions. An Alaska Wildlife Trooper located the vehicle in Ninilchik and conducted a traffic stop.
The driver was identified as 37-year-old Deloris V. Thornton of Anchorage. Troopers say an investigation determined she had consumed controlled substances earlier in the day before driving.
