Even after working to pass a Maryland budget earlier this year, it looks like the deficit could grow again by 2027

HAGERSTOWN – The state of Maryland was in rough shape at the beginning of the year with a $3 billion deficit in the budget.

When legislators cut a number of programs and added some taxes, the state passed a $67 billion budget in early April.

At the time, lawmakers had said it should give the state a nice cushion going into next year…
