The Mission at Kern County is bustling with activity as it prepares to serve over 1,000 Thanksgiving meals to those in need. Lavonne, a food service manager at the mission, shared that this marks his 25th year participating in the annual event. “Just being able to help people enjoy a nice Thanksgiving meal and to give back to the community what they’ve installed in me,” she said, reflecting on her personal connection to the mission.
