BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Certain Birmingham City Schools employees will receive an additional $1,000 in December.
The Birmingham Board of Education approved the payments for regular full-time employees during a specially called meeting Tuesday. The payments will be issued Dec. 22.

“Because we appreciate the hard work and dedication of our BCS employees, the board has approved prospective pay for five consecutive years,” said BCS Superintendent Mark Sullivan in a statement. “It is our hope that these additional funds will support our employees as we conclude an impactful year in Birmingham City Schools.”
