Dickson County Commission rejects road weight study, approves speed limit decrease

The Dickson County Commission tackled a long agenda Nov. 17, including discussions on a road weight study, speed limits, land for a convenience center and the Water Authority of Dickson County

First, the county commission unanimously approved a speed limit reduction on Willow Branch Road in Dickson from 45 to 30 miles per hour, effective immediately. The decision came following a request from 10th District County Commissioner Danny Williams for a speed study to be conducted on the road. Dickson County Sheriff Tim Eads stated at both the commission work session Nov. 3, and the regular meeting that a 10-day study of the area observed 4,400 vehicles, and 200 of them were speeding,

The results of the study led to the recommendation to lower the speed limit and a vote of approval. The speed limit change will be in effect once new signage is posted…
