Florida Airport Sting Nabs Gang Member in $20K Scam Targeting Elderly Man

A Miami gang member’s international getaway ended in arrest Monday after authorities intercepted him at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in connection with a scam that drained an elderly man’s savings.

Sheldon Adams Vandyke, 26, was taken into custody on Nov. 24, 2025, by deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Miami Police Department. He was wanted on a Monroe County warrant and is identified by investigators as a member of the Miami-based “Any Body Killer” (ABK) gang. Vandyke faces a felony charge of scheming to defraud a person over the age of 65.
