Houston police have arrested 23-year-old Homero Reyes in connection with a shooting that injured an HPD officer on the 6800 block of Gessner Road in Northwest Houston around 10:40 p.m. on Saturday, November 22. Reyes faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 178th Criminal District Court.
The incident began when an HPD officer, driving his personal vehicle southbound on Gessner at Hempstead Road, became involved in a disturbance with occupants of another vehicle. The driver of that vehicle, later identified as Reyes, fired several shots at the officer. The officer returned fire, and Reyes’ vehicle fled the scene.
