Thanksgiving heist goes cold: Cops gobble up 3 late-night burglars at Mag Mile department store

Three men in police custody on Thanksgiving morning are probably wondering how their “early bird gets the Gucci” approach to holiday shopping collapsed so spectacularly.

Chicago cops arrested the trio after they broke into the Saks Fifth Avenue department store on the Magnificent Mile late Wednesday night, apparently too eager for holiday shopping to wait for Black Friday’s sanctioned chaos.

Store security reported the break-in around 11:25 p.m. at 700 North Michigan Avenue, saying the men staged their own version of a “doorbuster” by prying open an entrance on the Mag Mile.
