Salvation Army of Lubbock preparing to serve hundreds at Thanksgiving community meal

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Salvation Army of Lubbock is preparing to serve hundreds of meals at its annual community Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday, offering a place of warmth, food and fellowship to anyone who needs it.

The organization will serve meals from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its main campus at 1111 16th Street. No registration is required.

“We’re gearing up for our Thanksgiving lunch for the community,” Director of Operations Erica Perry said. “We want anyone and everyone that needs a place to have that fellowship and to eat Thanksgiving… they’re welcome at our table.”

The Salvation Army typically prepares enough food for about 500 people, though turnout fluctuates each year. Last year, more than 300 people attended…
