Shreveport nativity celebration returns with more than 700 displays

SHREVEPORT, La. — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is once again hosting its annual nativity celebration, featuring more than 700 displays from around the world.

The free, family-friendly event runs from 4 to 8 p.m. this weekend and again next weekend, immediately following Thanksgiving. Visitors can explore exhibits ranging from large ceramic pieces to tiny, intricately carved scenes, representing more than 50 countries.

Interactive rooms include a media room with videos about the life of Jesus, a Bethlehem-themed room with arts and crafts, and a photo area where families can dress in robes and take pictures in a manger scene.

Organizers also welcome large private groups. Local churches and organizations, such as Holy Angels, bring dozens of visitors for special tours, including caroling and guided walkthroughs…
