Local Health Workers Recognized for Vaccination Efforts Across New Mexico Communities

On November 21, 2025, the New Mexico Immunization Coalition recognized several public health professionals at its annual conference in Albuquerque. The event took place at the Marriott Pyramid North and focused on improving vaccination access and awareness in the state.

Erica Flores, Melissa Padilla, and Crystal Trujillo, who make up the Metro Region Immunization Coordinator Team, received awards for their work in promoting immunization in their region. Nathaniel Webb, an epidemiologist, was also recognized for creating a measles outbreak dashboard during the 2025 outbreak.

Other recipients included Scott Minard from San Juan County, Rickie Eslick from Quay and DeBaca counties, Roberta Baca from Socorro, Andrea Halvorson from Las Cruces, and Anita Smith from Santa Fe. They were acknowledged for their efforts to increase vaccination rates and provide public education…
