El Paso County Law Enforcement Launches Holiday Traffic Crackdown to Keep Local Roads Safe

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and several regional law enforcement agencies have started a special traffic enforcement operation for the Thanksgiving holiday. The operation began on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, and will continue through Sunday, November 30. It aims to address unsafe driving during one of the busiest travel periods in the Pikes Peak region of Colorado.

The initiative has two phases. The first phase focuses on daytime enforcement and targets distracted, speeding, and reckless drivers. The second phase takes place in the evening and focuses on identifying and arresting impaired drivers. Agencies involved include the Colorado State Patrol, Colorado Springs Police Department, Fountain Police Department, Monument Police Department, Palmer Lake Police Department, Calhan Police Department, Fort Carson Military Police, and Pueblo Police Department.

Throughout 2025, these agencies have worked together to promote traffic safety and educate the public about the risks of reckless and impaired driving.
