Dunedin Marina rebuild hits snag

DUNEDIN — The slow, methodical process of rebuilding the City Marina is moving forward, but the project’s timeline has been challenged by unexpected delays caused by crumbling old infrastructure and natural obstacles, city commissioners learned in an update Nov. 20.

City Engineer Clayton Watkins and Harbormaster Laurie Ferguson presented an overview of the ongoing work, which includes the replacement of the bulkhead, the fishing pier and the floating docks. Officials cited permitting and material delays as key factors pushing back the timeline for all three phases.
