COLUMBIA, S.C. — Hundreds of people tonight can say they got a Thanksgiving dinner thanks to several churches teaming up to help. The 35th Annual Robert Keeder Interfaith Thanksgiving Dinner fed hundreds earlier this afternoon. Lines wrapped around St. Peter Catholic Church on Assembly Street for a plate of Thanksgiving dinner.
Volunteers woke up bright and early Thanksgiving morning to help prepare Thanksgiving meal boxes for those who couldn’t make the dinner. Altogether, 975 meals were prepared to bring to 15 nursing homes across the Midlands. And as the to-go boxes finished up, finishing touches were put together in the main dining room. Guests lined the room, waiting for their fresh Thanksgiving meal, from mashed potatoes to turkey to desserts.
