Teen dies in Spartanburg County shooting: ‘Another heartbreaking loss’

A teenager was fatally shot, and a man was injured, late Monday, Nov. 24, in Inman, prompting Spartanburg County authorities to again urge community cooperation as youth gun deaths continue to climb.

According to Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger, 16-year-old Bro’darrien K. Tate of Inman died late Nov. 24 in a shooting. A second unnamed 34-year-old was also shot in the leg but survived.

Lt. Graham McLellan with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to 350 Bryant Road at 8 p.m. and located two gunshot victims upon arrival. McLellan said deputies attempted to render aid to Tate, who later died…
