Off duty HPD officer arrested on burglary, kidnapping charges after Thanksgiving incident

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Madison County Sheriff’s Office says a Huntsville police officer was arrested Thursday morning after the sheriff’s office says he forced entry into a home.

MCSO said Brandon O’Field, 41, was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and two counts of first-degree kidnapping in the early morning incident. The Huntsville Police Department said O’Field is an officer with the department but was off duty at the time of the incident.

MCSO said at around 5 a.m. on Nov. 27, Deputies responded to the 200 block of Keva Street for a reported domestic violence incident.

The sheriff’s office said that on arrival, deputies made contact with two victims and were told a man, later identified as O’Field, had forced his way into the home before deputies arrived.
