HARTSELLE, ALABAMA —The City of Hartselle has taken the first steps to authorize the sale of alcohol on Sundays within the city limits.
At the City Council meeting on Tuesday Mayor Missy Evans introduced an ordinance that will expand current laws to allow Sunday sales at restaurants and retail locations.
Long a controversial issue in Hartselle, the city first “went wet” after it legalized sales of alchohol within city limits in 2016. Since then restaurants and businesses have opened and thrived selling alcoholic beverages in Hartselle’s downtown and surrounding areas, and the city has seen a huge increase in revenue as a result…
