Miami Beach to Name 17 Street Segment ‘Norman Braman Way’ in Honor of Local Philanthropist

The City of Miami Beach will name a street after businessman and philanthropist Norman Braman. The unveiling of ‘Norman Braman Way’ is set for Monday, December 1, at 10 a.m. The event will take place outside Miami Beach City Hall at 1700 Convention Center Drive. It will coincide with the opening of this year’s Art Basel Miami Beach.

Norman Braman has contributed to Miami Beach’s cultural and civic development. He helped bring Art Basel to the city in 2002. The event is now a major international attraction. Miami Beach Commissioner Alex J. Fernandez supported the street naming. He noted Braman’s involvement in arts, healthcare, and public service.

Braman’s philanthropy includes support for the Miami Beach Holocaust Memorial. Through the Irma and Norman Braman Art Foundation, he commissioned the Minna sculpture in Pride Park in 2022. The Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center at Mount Sinai Medical Center is expected to open in 2026…
