Iggy’s Boardwalk hosts free Thanksgiving meal

WARWICK, R.I. (WJAR) — Every Thanksgiving, Iggy’s Boardwalk in Warwick opens their doors for a special community meal.

“We team up with Hendricken and RIPTA, and we donate our time, and we provide turkey dinners to anyone that needs one in the city of Warwick and beyond,” owner David Gravino said.

About 150 people attend, friends and strangers alike sitting side by side to share a free meal every piece of it donated, prepared, and served by volunteers.

“Delicious food. I had Turkey and yams and stuffing and cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie for dessert,” one attendee said. “I go to dialysis three days a week, and they always call, Iggy’s, around Thanksgiving if you want to come for a free meal, that’s delicious. come here.”…
