ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — More than 8,000 are expected to kick off their Thanksgiving at 9:00 a.m. by running through the streets of downtown Roanoke in the 20th annual Drumstick Dash.
It’s the biggest single-day fundraiser of the year for the Roanoke Rescue Mission, which has been hard at work for months getting things ready for the big day.
“Dash Eve here is very exciting,” said Roanoke Rescue Mission director of communication and development Lisa Thompson. “We’ve worked for months and months with sponsors, inviting people to register and participate, and recruiting volunteers.
