The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office will increase DUI patrols during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The patrols will run from Wednesday, November 26, through Sunday, November 30, 2025. The goal is to reduce impaired driving and improve safety on local roads during a busy travel period.
Sheriff Kelly Martinez stated that deputies will arrest anyone found driving under the influence. In 2025, deputies have arrested more than 1,000 people for impaired driving in San Diego County.
The Sheriff’s Office notes that DUI includes impairment from alcohol, prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, and marijuana. These substances can affect driving, especially when combined.
