IHS feeds Oahu’s homeless with Thanksgiving meals prepared by Hilton Hawaiian Village chefs

HONOLULU (Island News) — The Institute for Human Services (IHS) helped to feed the local homeless population this Thanksgiving through donations and with help from Hilton Hawaiian Village chefs to prepare meals.

As the holidays can be an emotionally difficult time of year for many, especially for those experiencing homelessness, IHS offers a sense of ohana by serving meals each Thanksgiving.

Breakfast bentos that were donated arrived early on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 27, at IHS’s kitchen located in the men’s shelter. By mid-morning, 450 Thanksgiving dinners that Hilton Hawaiian Village chefs prepared were ready to be distributed to 11 shelter and kauhale sites…
