Update: Winter storm watch affecting 14 Michigan counties Saturday and Sunday – potentially 9 inches of snow

At 2:36 p.m. EST on Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch valid from Saturday 7 a.m. EST until Sunday 10 a.m. EST for Isabella, Montcalm, Gratiot, Kent, Ionia, Clinton, Eaton, Ingham and Jackson counties.

The weather service adds, “Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations 6 or more inches possible from Saturday into Sunday.”

“Travel could be very difficult,” explains the weather service. “Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on the potential heavy snow this weekend.”
