PRICEVILLE, Ala. — A longtime Priceville police officer has filed a charge of discrimination with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, alleging the city council denied him the police chief position based on his age.
Jason Leon Wilbanks, who has served with the Priceville Police Department since 2002, filed the complaint against the City of Priceville following the council’s appointment of a new chief on Nov. 3. The filing alleges discrimination based on age and retaliation.
Wilbanks claims he was passed over for the role despite having “superior qualifications, decades of service, [and] significantly greater supervisory experience” than the candidate selected.
