Westwood couple says divine intervention saved them from Thanksgiving house fire

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – It was a heartbreaking start to the Thanksgiving holiday for one couple in Westwood after fire ravaged their home. Ronald Hunter and his wife Patricia were asleep just before 6 a.m. Thursday when the fire started in the den.

Mr. Hunter said a craving for a piece of cake woke him, but he was stopped by the sight of smoke and flames in the den before reaching their kitchen.

Mrs. Hunter shares what happened next: “I opened the front door and then I turned around and went to our bedroom to grab our robes and I went back to get him out the house because he was standing there looking and I said, ‘Come on out! Come on out the house!'”…
