Garden City Streetscape Improvements Move Closer to Construction, Bringing Upgrades for Local Residents

The Garden City Streetscape Project in Horry County is nearing the end of its permitting phase, expected in November 2025. The project is a partnership with local agencies. It aims to improve the appearance and utility services in Garden City, especially during bad weather.

The work includes moving overhead utilities underground, upgrading drainage, and adding new sidewalks. Phase one covers Waccamaw Drive from the Georgetown County line to Magnolia Avenue, and Atlantic Avenue from Waccamaw Drive to the marsh.
