Celebration of life set for Treasure Coast locksmith killed in eviction shooting

VERO BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A celebration of life has been set for David A. Long, a respected locksmith and cherished member of the Vero Beach community.

Long passed away on November 23, following injuries sustained during a tragic shooting while assisting deputies with an eviction. He was 76.

In Long’s obituary, he is remembered for his bright smile and dry sense of humor. He earned the nickname “Sunshine” among friends. Though sometimes gruff, David was remembered as a generous man with a big heart who loved to make people laugh…
