Greenacres Woman’s Kia Telluride Stolen After Break-In, Suspect Caught Using Stolen Credit Cards

A Greenacres woman encountered a rude awakening Tuesday when she discovered her purse, car keys, and about 40 credit cards had disappeared along with her 2023 Kia Telluride. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, alerted to the residential break-in and vehicle theft on Tuesday, indicated that the alleged burglary occurred near Palm Drive in Greenacres around 2 a.m, as reported by CBS12.

The victim later notified law enforcement upon realizing that her credit cards were used at several locations, including Walmart where a $13.16 purchase was made and Chevron and Dollar General, where her cards were charged $28.40 and $99.78, respectively, according to CBS12. Surveillance footage from Walmart captured a suspect, later identified as Marcus Mott wearing a black hoodie, ripped blue jeans, and black shoes, using the victim’s credit cards, the footage which subsequently led to an arrest at a Cumberland Farms gas station.

Marcus Mott, 34, faced multiple charges including grand theft of a motor vehicle, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, and criminal use of personal identification as detailed in a booking post found on a Facebook page.
