Local groups serve free Thanksgiving meals to help meet community needs

NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (KCRG) – As families across eastern Iowa gather for Thanksgiving, two local groups are making sure no one has to spend the holiday without a warm meal or company.

For the fourth year in a row, volunteers with Iowa Matrix handed out free Thanksgiving meals from the South Slope office in North Liberty. The nonprofit, which focuses on youth development and community resilience, provides both on-site meals and deliveries for anyone who needs one.
