ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Mission Health officials said its annual Healthy Foods for Healthier Tomorrows initiative collected more than 10,000 pounds of food system-wide, which will benefit food banks serving western North Carolina.
Officials said in a Nov. 26 news release that of the 10,000 pounds of food collected, more than 5,000 pounds were collected at Mission Hospital and CarePartners and will benefit MANNA FoodBank and Loving Food Resources in Asheville.
“I’m incredibly proud of our teams for coming together in such a meaningful way to help ensure that more of our neighbors have food on their tables,” Greg Lowe, CEO of Mission Health and Mission Hospital, said in a written statement. “This is the heart of who we are at Mission Health—people helping people.”…
