NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — While many families spent Thanksgiving gathered around their own tables, three North Charleston organizations worked to build a bigger one, serving meals, clothing and a sense of family to neighbors who often go without.
The Waylyn Heart Team, Sunflowers for Hope and Dusk Before Dawn teamed up along Rivers Avenue on Thursday morning to serve dozens of people from the Dorchester and North Charleston communities.
What started as a single plate grew into a table long enough for anyone who needed a seat. Volunteers offered Thanksgiving staples, hot meals, clothing, shoes and goodie bags, so much so that many people walked away with more than they could carry…
