Gwinnett schools preparing to adopt cell phone ban policy

Gwinnett parents are being asked to weigh in on a ban on students using cell phones in the county’s schools.

The Gwinnett County Board of Education recently placed a new policy on students use of electronic devices on the table for a month to allow for community feedback. The school board will vote on adopting the policy at its Dec. 18 business meeting.

The proposed Policy JCDAF would essentially ban students from using personal electronic devices, including cell phones, in all schools except in certain cases involving students with learning or physical disabilities or serious medical issues…
