Fort Wayne Ad Calls For New Casino

FORT WAYNE — A new push to bring a casino to northeast Indiana is underway as Greater Fort Wayne Inc. has launched an advertising campaign and website promoting the idea. The effort, called “Fort Wayne First,” argues that a gaming facility in the region would create high-wage jobs and generate substantial tax revenue for public services, parks and neighborhood improvements.

The campaign follows a state-commissioned analysis released last month by Spectrum Gaming Group that identified the Fort Wayne area and downtown Indianapolis as the strongest candidates for any future casino development in Indiana. The study came after an unsuccessful legislative attempt earlier this year to relocate the gaming license held by Full House Resorts from Rising Sun to New Haven.
