LANCASTER, Ky. (FOX 56) — Former Garrard County Sheriff Ronald “Ronnie ” Wardrip has died.
According to the sheriff’s office, Wardrip passed on Friday, Nov. 28, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

He served as sheriff for 16 years and continued his devotion to service as the court security director.
“Sheriff Wardrip was known for his compassion, his steady leadership, and his deep love for the people of Garrard County. His impact on this community is immeasurable, and his legacy of service, integrity, and kindness will live on for generations,” the sheriff’s office wrote. “Our entire office extends our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him. Sheriff Wardrip will be profoundly missed—but never forgotten.”…
