A woman is facing felony theft charges after police say she stole a shopper’s bag containing more than $1,300 in cash at the Walmart on Grant Avenue in Auburn.
The theft happened on November 24, according to a media release from the Auburn Police Department. Officers responded around 2:48 p.m. after the victim, who had finished shopping and was waiting in the vestibule for a ride, realized her bag was missing from her shopping cart.
The woman told police she had looked down at her phone for a few minutes and didn’t notice the bag was gone until later. Inside the stolen bag were her birth certificate, wallet, several credit and debit cards, and $1,300 in U.S. currency…
